Changes

Why is it that after you have published something, of course then you find changes and revisions that need to be made? I had read over my manuscript four times on the computer and thought I had caught every misspelling, every grammar issue and every plot problem. Then, I printed it out. I read it on paper as I have read hundreds of other books in my life and that was the game changer. I found something, even if it was as small as a missing comma, on almost every single page.

I can only be thankful that I found these things before my book went to print. I do want to apologize to anyone that purchased my book before I found these items of annoyance.  I have been told that Kindle users will have the ability to download the revised version of my book. I know, as a Nook user, that B&N does not offer that ability. This makes me sad, all I can say is live and learn. And I did learn that with the next book in the series - before it is every seen by anyone else - I will be printing it off and reading it the "old fashioned" way.

Writing Adventure

It is amazing to me that, after almost 4 years, the writing adventure of my first book is finally coming to an end. It is kinda like having your first born ready to leave for college (which is also happening for me soon). Excited to have them go out to the world, but sorry to have them leave.

I will admit, it is also nerve wracking to think of people all over reading my book. I know that was the entire point of writing it - but it is kinda like walking down the street in nothing but a bikini when you are used to wearing a one piece. When writing a book you leave a part of yourself in that book, in the words and feelings of the story.  All of that is now out there for the world to see. I can only hope that my book does well enough that I have a chance to get used to this new feeling. I hope I do. :)
